Who we are
Advisors who have run companies, not only reviewed them.
Haluan was started in 2009 by three former operators: a plantation finance director, a logistics COO, and a family-business heir who left to find out why his own family kept arguing. Today we are 38 advisors in Jakarta and Surabaya.
- Former CFOs, COOs and founders
- Bahasa Indonesia and English, in the same meeting
- A partner on every engagement, not just the pitch
Most companies do not need a 200-page strategy. They need five decisions made well and a team that knows why. We write less, sit with your people more, and judge ourselves by what still works a year after we leave.
- Decisions over decks
- Your people present the plan, not us
- Results tracked for twelve months after we go
A fixed fee for each phase, agreed before we start. If a phase does not produce the decision we promised, the next phase is free. No retainers that run on habit.
- Fixed fee per phase
- The first conversation is free, thirty minutes
- Part of the fee tied to results, if you prefer

Selected work
Four companies, four different problems.
How an engagement runs
Twelve weeks, then we leave.
- Weeks 1–2
Listen
We interview thirty people, from the board to the loading dock, and read the numbers ourselves.
- Weeks 3–5
Diagnose
One page: the five decisions that matter, the ones that can wait, and what each one is worth.
- Weeks 6–10
Design
Your managers build the new way with us in weekly workshops. We draft, they decide.
- Weeks 11–12
Hand over
Your team presents the plan to the board. We track the numbers with you for twelve months.
What clients say
“They spent the first two weeks in our warehouses, not our boardroom. That is why the plan worked.”
“My father and I argued about the handover for six years. It was on paper in four months, and we are still talking to each other.”
“The bank said yes on the first presentation. The numbers were ours. Haluan taught us how to tell them.”
